Project Management and delivery of Live Site Refurbishment to exceptional standard for Tuncurry’s residence, enhancing the stylish and beautiful bedrooms, ensuites and common areas.
As the oldest aged care residence in the region, Estia Health Tuncurry has strong connections to the local community and long-term staff providing quality care and attention to all residents.
The residences are divided into six ‘houses’ with large open plan living and dining areas areas in each. Tuncurry provides stylish and comfortable accomodation in a beautifully landscaped setting.
Project Scope
A range of internal refurbishment works were completed in private and common areas:
resident bedrooms
ensuite bathrooms
living and dining areas
corridors
The scope of works was to refurbish and upgrade the resident rooms and common areas throughout the home’. The level of detail differed in each area. Some requiring full strip-out and other areas requiring general repairs and facelift. Carpentry and joinery were manufactured and installed, and specialised carpet preparation and replacement depended on how the area was used. Managing and delivering this project with regular communication to head-office and the onsite management team ensured project milestones were met and delivered with minimal disruption to residents.
Results
The refurbishment at Tuncurry was completed in managed stages by the Project Management team to minimise the disruption to the residents and care teams. Regular services such as hairdressing, crafts, snooker and physiotherapy were not interrupted for residents. The high quality of the refurbishment retains the excellent standards of Tuncurry, allowing residents to enjoy the many daily activities on offer.
